Nexus 5X and 6P: Google's new Products!
Google has been quite busy lately as they had been working on the new releases. Recently, a few weeks back they had steamed up everyone with their new products - Nexus 5X; Nexus 6P; Pixel-C; Chromecast.
This post is exclusively made for the new Nexus flagship smartphones. Fear not, the other products will also have individual posts.
NOTE - Google has been claiming that the 'P' in Nexus 6P stands for premium.
Huaweii and LG are the manufacturers of the Nexus flagships this time. There are new features which we were expecting from Google otherwise where's the competition?
Fingerprint Scanner-
Both the Nexus phones allow you to secure your phone with your fingerprint. Competing with the OnePlus 2, LG G4, S6 variants, Note 5, HTC One M+. Even Google has joined the battle with this new feature. Just like the OnePlus 2 these phones don't need to be woken up. You just hold on to the circular sensor placed behind right below the camera and it unlocks right away. The position is a unique idea by Huawei and it allows you to hold them in a particular position while unlocking.
Design -
- Nexus 5X - This remade version if Nexus 5 is amazingly designed with an elegant camera on top with the dual LED and the stunning fingerprint scanner with a lustrous metal outline. The LG logo stands below the nexus symbol. The covers are plastic which are available in 3 stunning colors - sea blue, black and white.The design is kept simple yet comfortable.
- Nexus 6P - This phone has the fingerprint sensor in the exact same position yet not having a simple body design. The camera region has changed a lot. There is a black highlighted area which is for the camera and the dual LED. The highlighted area n pictures might look that its bulging out, but it actually isn't.
Both these phones have a good body design. The main difference which you will feel when holding both of them is the side. The sides in Nexus 5X are having a black side where as the sides of Nexus 6P are chamfered with metal.
Software -
We are still waiting for custom ROMs from developers. +CyanogenMod is the most which I would recommend you to go for hoping for their speedy release. Others are also available.
Display -
Nexus 5X - The 5X has a beautiful 5.2 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 p at 424 ppi density. This Full-HD display is protected by a layer of Gorilla glass 3.
Nexus 6P - The 6P unlike the 5X has a premium display. The resolution being
2560 x 1440 p and a pixel density of ; this nexus comes with an AMOLED display. This still doesn't beat the S6 variants, but then it comes with a protection of Gorilla glass 4. Which, obviously its far better than the 5X.
Camera -
The Nexus 5X has a 12.3 megapixel. This time, Google has included a laser auto-focus which will allow you a quick focus so that you can smoothly take a shot. You also get a dual LED flash for bright pics. The secondary camera is 5 megapixel allowing you decent selfies.
Battery -
Nexus 5X comes with a 2,700 mAh battery - for a 5.2". Well, it is pretty decent and will last you for hours.
Nexus 6P is packed with a huge 3,450 mAh battery. This battery will keep you lasted for a longer time than the 5X.
Interior -
The Interior of the 5X is alive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808. We were expecting at least a Snapdragon 810. Even though, 820 is the latest. The 6P has a Snapdragon 810....
Talking about the CPU, 5X has a quad core clocked at 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53 & dual-core clocked at 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57.
In the 6P, the case is different as it has an octa-core consisting of 2 quad cores - Quad core 1.55 GHz Cortex-A53 and Quad Core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A57.
What about graphics, then? Well, such a strong phone is obviously having consistent GPU.
5X has an Adreno 418 and 6P has an Adreno 430. These have got amazing upgrades from their previous models; the Nexii are great but are just decent on graphics and CPU compared to LG, OnePlus, HTC. The 6P being way better, of course.

Reported Issues with the Nexus 6P-
Huwaei's manufactured Nexus 6P has some trivial issues-
1. #BendGate - The Nexus 6P is easy to bend. The bendgate is more extreme than iPhone 6 Plus.
2. Camera Glass Crack - The 6P also has a reported issue of the camera spontaneously cracking even though it has a Gorilla Glass 4 protection. This seems to be a disappointment.
3. Screen - The screen display has an issue of color temperature - which is warmer than desired. Ultimately, resulting for the white areas to look a bit reddish.

The Nexus 6P comes in 2 classic color variants and these are the approximate amount you will have to pay to get one -
- Aluminum - $660 for 64 GB Internal Memory
- Aluminum - $610 for 32 GB Internal Memory
- Graphite - $610 for 32 GB Internal Memory
- Graphite - $660 for 64 GB Internal Memory
The Nexii released are great and amazingly upgraded phones which are filled with features and the smoothness of stock android. Considering, the price mark of 5X to be OK ($500 range); bur the 6P within a $600 range is definitely costly with silly drawbacks. You always have OnePlus 2 as a competitor with half the price and the equal features here and there.
You can always wait for CyanogenMod to release CM 13 official for these Nexii if you want more features...
