Watching Star Wars moive via Command Prompt(cmd) or PowerShell in Windows/Mac OS


Do you want to know some cool cmd/powershell tricks which will be very useful? Well, one of them is watching a cool Star Wars movie! The best thing is that it is available in Mac also. In this post, where you will need an internet connection I will show you how to by just 6 simple steps!


  • Start CMD by Pressing Win+R; and then type CMD and hit Enter! In the cmd screen, type telnet... If an error message comes, then close cmd. If error message doesn't appear directly go to STEP 3!
  • You need to enable Telnet Client for higher Windows versions  Go to Control Panel and click Programs and Features; after that click Turn Windows Features On or Off. 
  • In the TelNet Client option, cheque the box... After a minute, TelNet Client will be ready for use...
  1. Now In CMD, Type telnet, press Enter
  2. The Telnet WIndow will open, and then type "O"
  3. Then type towel.blinkenlights.nl. Now Enjoy your movie! :D
Using Start Wars on Mac OS - 


  1.         Make sure that your PC is connected to the internet.
  2.         Open your 'applications' folder.
  3.         Locate and open the 'Utilities' folder.
  4.         Open the application 'Terminal'.
  5.         Type in: telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl And press Enter... Now Star WARS episode IV will         start!
Note: This Star Wars can also run on Windows Powershell with the same(above) steps....
