OnePlus 2: The 2015 Flagship Killer?

In the previous post, I mentioned about some of the specs of the OnePlus 2 which OnePlus have been sharing with everyone on Social Media. Well, OnePlus 2 has been out. FINALLY!!

We have all the specs, details and info. And believe me, this phone is a killer! OP 2 not only has improved specs but there are also a few additional features which are found only is flagships costing you at least $600(can also be more). Now, don't you worry - The OnePlus 2 is still within price range as I mentioned in my previous post. Let's move on to what's new...

Memory-

The OP 2 has support for both 3 GB and newly 4 GB RAM. This makes the 4 GB variant as good as a computer. Wow! Storage types are of variants - 32 GB and 64 GB. Well, 16 gigs was just too little considering that CyanogenMod on the OnePlus wasn't light. Anyway, people prefer at least 32 GB on smartphones especially the killers.

Operating System-

Previously OnePlus had a partnership with Cyanogen Inc. where they had to provide their custom OS which was android based. Cyanogen offers[FREE] users to download and flash their modified android OS on their smart devices to get freedom from phone manufacturers who restrict many functions. But, without OnePlus' knowledge, they signed up a partnership with a newly launched Indian brand 'YU Televentures'. So YU has been using CyanogenMod and the software features were exactly the same.

After the breakup, OnePlus came up with their own OS namely Oxygen which is not so great as CyanogenMod but is good enough since it has similar features and is running on the One Plus 2.

Camera-

The OP 2 has a 13 MP camera just like it's previous model: One. They also included the dual LED flash with f/2.0 aperture. The camera technology of the OP 2 has been brilliantly designed just enough to shove in optical image stabilization, rear mounted laser technology (which sharpens and focuses the camera in 0.33 milliseconds). Well, as the front facing camera is involved having a 5 MP wide-angle capability, it again is a carbon copy of its predecessor.
Modes
The different modes in this camera are Beauty, HDR and Clear Shot. As the OnePlus is powered by Oxygen OS 2.0.1 (latest update), it doesn't have all the amazing camera modes which was in Cyanogen. OnePlus 2 supports 4K videos.

Some users are complaining about the time gap between clicking the pics. But, we are hoping this issue will be looked into and fixed through an OTA update. Afterall, OP 2 camera is capable of taking crisp, clear and beautiful shots.

Design-

OnePlus 2 only has a black sandstone finish available and there is no white back. But you can pay a little extra and buy the Style Swap covers...  These include Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood and Kevlar.
OnePlus 2 has a solid aluminium-magnesium alloy which holds the 5.5" display in. The speaker grills are below surrounding the USB Type-C input jack.
178g of this phone makes it just enough decent to hold.  OP 2 also has a new Alter slider for 3 different silent modes inspired by Apple, of course. The Power button along with the volume toggles consecutively on the right hand side are tactile.

Cons-

One thing that the OnePlus 2 lags is an NFC [Near Field Communication]. The NFC makes life smooth for us. For example, if you are in a shop and for efficient check out, you can just bring your phone in proxy of the paying machine, which will checkout fast. But, OnePlus claims that NFC isn't used by many people so it's not necessary.
From this statement, we have 2 questions arising; 1. Is is actually that it would be much more costlier to include NFC OR 2. Will it take up more space/ change the design completely of the OP2?

Battery-

The battery is a beautiful 3,300 mAh which is pretty good as now they have a hell lot of features. It has the capability to handle this phone with an on-screen time of 4 hours with light usage.

Highlighted above are the most important features and specs of the OnePlus 2. This is an amazing phone with the new Oxygen OS and new hardware like alert slider, fingerprint scanner etc. This definitely is the flagship killer of 2015! However, for buying one you need an invite and the new reservation list has gone up till 5 million+...
