Motorola's New phone!

So, what do we know about Motorola? Some of us might be saying that it's an American smart phone manufacturer, and some of us might just say they make amazing Moto series phones - budget, high tech and they also have their Nexus 6 which was amazing!

But, I'm not gonna write about Motorola Company. I'm gonna spice you up with their new Moto E: 2nd Generation.

Talking about Moto E, it does fall in the budget category for just about $130. The Moto G 2nd Gen is still in the budgeted phone which costs around $150. The specs are decent this time as they included a VGA secondary camera! But for all the specifications here they are:-

Operating Sytem-

Motorola always keeps their phone like stock android, so for this phone they have loaded android lollipop (5.0) out-of-the-box. It is the latest and the e 2nd gen will get Over the Air updates, like all other typical Motorola phones...

Design and build-

Moto e 2nd gen has a 4.5" IPS display which is quite decent and will not give you the budgeted cheap size feel. The screen has a corning gorilla glass 3 protection. It supports MicroSIM cards where 3G is supported! This phone is light weighted(145g).

Display-

It's mentioned that the screen size diagonal is 4.5 inches. The pixel density is 245 ppi. But also the resolution is 540 x 960 pixels .

Well, the resolution is not much to expect neither it is too good, but remember "budgeted category".

Hardware-

The new Moto E 2nd Gen has really improved from it's brother Moto E and it has 2 models- 3G and LTE model(s)...

3G Moto E 2nd Gen-

Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 chipset, 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 with Adreno 302 GPU.

LTE Moto E 2nd Gen-

Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 and Adreno 306 GPU.

And both of them are rocking a quad-core processor. But, these detailed are not so great but still comfortable for the price point.

Storage/Memory-

The Moto E 2nd Gen has an internal memory of 8 GB and you can extend it up to a max of 32 gigs by a micro SD Card. The RAM of this phone is only 1 GB. That is pretty decent and 8 gigs of internal is standard these days. Again look at the price, if you think this is too low...

Camera-

A 5 megapixel rear camera and a VGA secendory camera is good for the Moto E 2nd Gen. You have the stock android camera in this phone and it gives you all amazing features like auto-focus(where you can click on a particular area to expose and focus on that more than the surrounding(s) which is great), geo-tagging, panaroma and Motorola did not cut-out HDR mode.

For shooting videos, you have 720p HD recording, and @30 frames per second. The resolution is 2592 х 1944 pixels. That is just good, I would say!

Apart from these stand-up specs which are important, here are other ones which are ungrouped...

  • The Moto E 2nd Generation in terms of sensors has an accelerometer plus a proximity. It is quiet surprising that there's no gyroscope or e-compass.
  • An important curious question which arises for this budgeted phone with decent pecs is the Battery. Motorola did do a good job by building in a 2390 mAh Li-Ion battery to this phone. Way better than a 1930 mAh battery which was in the previous built.
The Moto E 2nd Generation has a non-removable back. But the outline can be replaced with a stylish colorful border and it has a nice grippy texture.

Well, I would say that the Moto E 2nd Gen is a good phone overall. With the stock android and promised future OTA updates (if there will be any further) and the decent specs with an OK camera and way better than the original Moto E, you will definitely not be doing a mistake buying it.
That is my opinion, but what do you think? Is it a good idea to buy it and will motorola focus on more budgeted phones? Throw it down in the comments
