One Plus One

The One Plus One is a new phone in the market which was launched around on April, 2014 last year. This phone has built it's positive reputation over a year, this phone isn't that easy to get hand on... The manufacturer doesn't supply many of 'em because it runs on an invite system globally! I'm gonna give you guys all the tech specs of this phone so that you can see how amazing it is!

Before, I go ahead with the phone, I will give you a brief about OnePlus. This manufacturer makes these products in China, and the company's HQ is in China itself!  So, the manufacturer doesn't make advertisements... They sure did a ladies first campaign which was a failure ultimately because of their sexist ideas-

On 13 August 2014, OnePlus hosted a contest to give invites, which were hard to come by at the time, to their women forum members. Users were asked to post a photo of themselves with the OnePlus logo, photos would be shared in the forum and could be ´liked´ by other forum members.  Hours after being announced the campaign was stopped. OnePlus stated that a few 'rogue' employees created the campaign.

Platform-

This piece of technology runs a CyanogenMod version of Android KitKat 4.4.2(upgradable to 4.4.4 still KitKat). While, some models support 4.4.4 already. It's performance is really fast as CyanogenMod has more better additional features added to the stock Android...

Such as - In Settings you can edit the quick toggles and even enable or disable the Soft Keys. Yes... OnePlus has it's own softkeys below the screen, but if you hate it or something, then you can just disable the manual ones...

Minor Specs-

Here are the minor specs of this epic phone -

Processor-

The OnePlus One supports a 2.5 GHz Quad Core Snaodragon 801 chip.

It has 3GB of RAM.

Camera-

It has a 13 megapixel rear camera; and a 5 megapixel front camera. Apart from that, the CyanogenMod build has a better camera which many effects by just scrolling down. It's capable of 4K or slo-mo videos which is amazing! The camera lens in in a blackish vertical rectangle with the flash light below it. I must say that OnePlus has done a pretty good job with the camera with it's placement!

Battery-

It has a 3100mAh battery, which is pretty good!

Display-

OnePlus has a big screen display of 5.5". Here is an issue - The OnePlus has its screen protruding out, so if you drop it face down... Then it might be cracked easily!

Design:-

This phone pretty much sums it up that it is easy to operate... The power and volume buttons are somewhere is the middle of the huge 5.5" screen's side. For people who can't reach that top, can just reach out till the middle.

This phone is kinda like an iPhone - The battery cannot be removed unless you try some of your own manual technics which no one will ever suggest you to. But, you surely can remove the cover and change it with a stylish hard cover which is available in the market.

Speakers-

Taking of speakers, the OnePlus has a decent stereo set speakers at the bottom like any iPhone. There are three mics fit in the phone, which are near the speakers, volume rocker and the audio jack.

Theme Showcase:-

So in theme showcase, you can just change your current theme to some other android device theme like LG, Galaxy S5 or like Lollipop. But, at the beginning, there were only a few of themes. It seems OnePlus is really improving after the OTA updates!

Commands:-

1. This phone wakes up whenever you double tap the screen anywhere in locked mode. This feature is already existing in Nokia lumia variants.
2. The torch activation is a big issue here. When you draw the alphabet 'V' on the screen in lock mode itself, it enables the torch... Well, keeping this in your pocket doesn't seem like a good idea as this will heat up and drain the battery of OnePlus One.

Cons:-

Bugs-

Well, CyanogenMod OS does have some bugs... For example, when you swipe right in the lock screen to open the camera, and go Home(by pressing the middle soft-key), the toolbar part of the screen makes the wallpaper size go low... But, when you lock and open it normally it shows the wallpaper normally.

Another bug is the homes button reacts slow!

The second con, when you press the 'HOME' button, it goes back really slow. Comparing it with any other KitKat phone, you'll see that it's slow. I'm sure CM is gonna fix ALL of that with more updates as they are passing down some which have fixed some bugs...

Price-

16 GB - $300
64 GB - $350

The price is not much compared to Galaxy S5, iPhone 5s, HTC One - which cost approx. $700. So, the specs are pretty much the same...

OnePlus One has promised an OTA update to Android L within 90 days(3 months) of android's last release. So, it more awesomeness is coming up!

So, ultimately all we conclude is OnePlus One is an amazing Phone which runs CM (android 4.4.4) and the specs are great... It is amazing if you can get one...
